PESHAWAR Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education, Qazi Muhammad Asad said on Wednesday that a respectable position among comity of nations could not be achieved without making advancement in contemporary education and priority was needed for survival in modern world.He expressed these views as a chief guest in the inaugural session of two-day conference held under the auspices of Planning and Management Unit (PMU) at Archives Hall. The aims of conference was to deliberate on various proposals to reorganize and restructure the public sector colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.The ceremony was attended by Secretary Higher Education, Farah Hamid, Additional Secretary, Khalid Khan, Director Ghulam Qasim Khan, Tariq Sahibzada of PMU, leading educationist and principals of major colleges.The Minister said the torch bearer of peace, Baacha Khan had made an unprecedented struggle for the establishment of literate society and stressed on educationist and teachers to utilize their professional skills for bringing revolutionary changes in educational system and implement their proposals in true sense for further enhancing educational standards.A special task force of highly qualified education professional would soon be formulated for furnishing suggestions to revamp the educational edifice with productivity, he maintained.He urged teachers to utilize their professional abilities for giving exemplary status to educational institutions and focus character building strategies for students for preparing them to meet challenges of modern world.Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Higher Education Farah Hamid said the government was giving special focus to higher education and are constructing new colleges to bolster education ratio and provide quality education to children and youth (thefrontierpost)
