KPK Puts forward rules for standard of teachers

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, has said that the decision of the provincial cabinet regarding the management and teaching cadres in theelementary and secondaryeducation would be implemented in letter and spirit adding that the interests of all the stakeholders would be safeguarded.He said this while presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee regarding the management and teaching cadres in the elementary andsecondary education held here on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by Minister Education, Sardar Hussain Babak, Secretary Elementary Education, Mushtaq Jadoon and concerned officials of Finance, Law and, Establishment departments.The meeting discussed various aspects to bring improvement in the management and teaching cadres and took certain decisions in this regard. The Minister Information in his brief speech on the occasion termed incorrect and baseless the impression that the government was winding up the management cadre. He said that basic aim behind the introduction of reforms in the management and teaching cadres was to ensure provision of standard education.He added that the management cadre in the education department was introduced by the present government and had powers to completely wind up it but added that the government will not take any such decision which to affect any person from the either cadre.Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that there were certain technical problems in the present management cadre as a result of which the incumbents of this cadre had meager promotion opportunities. He added the reformation in elementary and secondary education was not aiming stability and firmness of any individual but rather of the institution so that standard education is ensured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Minister Education Sardar Hussain Babak on this occasion said that the present government was working for the implementation of long awaited service structure of teachersand district/provincial cadres for teachers including time scale package would very soon beannounced, he concluded.
