Karachi Young Pakistani students made their mark at the 11th Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) by grabbing two gold and five silver medals.

The APICTA was organised in Pattaya, Thailand, in which different ICT firms from Pakistan secured two gold awards in the e-Health and e-Logistics & SCM categories and 5 silver medals in Communication, Financial, Security, e-Inclusion & e-Community and e-Government categories.

Pakistan’s team comprised 18 products, which were competing with 162 products from the Asia-Pacific region.

The Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (Care) once again swept the awards with the gold in e-Health and the silver in Communication, Security and e-Government categories.


The Lumen soft Technologies went for a gold in the e-Logistics category with InfoTech Group taking the silver in the Financial Apps category and Engro-Orix taking the silver in the e-Inclusion & e-Community category.

The APICTA 2011 awards were announced a day before by the Association of Thai ICT Industry and supported by the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA).

The recipients of gold awards are the Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (Care) for e-Health Applications category and Lumensoft (private) Limited for e-Logistics category.

The recipients of silver awards are Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (Care) for Security Applications category, Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) for e-Government category, Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (Care) forCommunication category, Infotech (private) Limited for Financial Applications category and Engro Foods & Orix Leasing Pakistan for e-Inclusion & E-Community Applications category.The news.
