USAID donates 10 incubators to health department

KARACHI; Saturday, November 05, 2011: United States (US) Consul General at Karachi William Martin handed over 10 incubators for newborn children to health department officials at a ceremony at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), here on Friday.

While delivering his presidential address, he said, “Today marks another milestone in the US commitment to improving healthcare for Pakistani people here in Sindh”. He further said that these incubators would assist in saving the lives of newborn babies.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided the incubators to Sindh Health Department.

“These incubators will assist in saving the lives of newborn babies and will allow JPMC and other hospitals to improve the quality of emergency care for children,” said Martin.

It is pertinent to mention here that the US would provide incubators to seven hospitals in Sindh which are JPMC and Civil Hospital Karachi, Civil Hospital Mirpukhas, Civil Hospital Sanghar, Civil Hospital Dadu, Taluka Hospital Tando Adam and Ganga Bai Hospital Shikarpur.
