Protest of students of Islamia College University (ICU)



PESHAWAR The students of Islamia College University (ICU) continued their strike against the examination section for the second consecutive day on Tuesday to press the administration ensure timely declaration of result and replace the controller of examination.

The students were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against Controller of Examination Mohammad Javed. Led by Hafeezullah, Islamia Jamiat-e-Talaba nazim for Islamia College University, the protesters also chanted slogans against the varsity administration.

The protesting students were of the opinion that due to delay in the announcement of their result and issuance of their marks sheets, they were suffering serious problems in seeking admission in higher classes and acquiring hostel


facility.

They also opposed the system of relative GPA and demanded the university administration to introduce absolute GPA system on the pattern of other universities and degree-awarding institutes of the province.

They demanded the vice-chancellor to immediately replace the controller and save the students from further embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Haider Shah visited the protesting students and assured them of accepting all their demands by November 4. The students dispersed peacefully after the assurance.The news.
