Teachers warn against KMC autonomy rollback

PESHAWAR: The office-bearers of the Khyber Medical College Teachers Association on Friday strongly opposed the rollback of the administrative and financial autonomy of the teaching institutions.
The opposition was voiced at a meeting of the association that met under the chairmanship of Dr Prof Inayat Shah Roghani.
The participants said the autonomy rules made in year 2001, amended in 2006 and notified by the government of KPK, should be henceforth respected and separate seniority lists of Postgraduate Medical Institute and Khyber Medical College be notified under this regulation.
The joint cadre of Khyber Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital was unacceptable as these violated the autonomy rules being done to favour blue eyed individuals. The participants of the meeting deplored increased kidnapping of doctors.
