The British Council (Pakistan) is offering an online training course ‘Teaching English E-Moderator Essentials Course’ beginning in January 2012.
The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organization for educational and cultural relations.
Course Profile:
This course prepares experienced EFL teacher trainers to work as moderators of online courses. It is particularly aimed at developing capacity for the British Council to deliver online teacher training courses such as ‘Teaching English – TKT’, ‘Learning Technologies in the Classroom’ and ‘Teaching English – Primary Essentials within Pakistan.’
The course gives participants practical experience of a moderated online course. Participants will work individually and in groups to build their understanding, knowledge and practice of online moderation.
Participants are assessed throughout the course. This will help them, and the moderators, ascertain their progress in the course along with their suitability to deliver online courses on behalf of the British Council.
The course takes place over eight weeks, with about four hours logged in each week per participant (i.e. 32 hours study time). Optional activities may extend the number of hours that participants work on the course. All costs will be covered by the Council.
