FGTA to protest if CADD fails to take decision today

The participants of the general body meeting of the Federal Government TeachersAssociation (FGTA) have authorised top office-bearers to decide about the future plan against the inordinate delay in issuance of final notification by the CapitalAdministration and Development Division (CADD) for promotion of BPS-16 teachers to BPS-17.

A meeting of the FGTA general body, which was held here on Monday with association president Azhar Awan in the chair, expressed serious concerns over non-implementation of directives of the prime minister, which he gave on ‘Salam Teachers Day’ observed on October 5, 2011.

It was also decided in the meeting to give more time to the CADD till November 22 (Tuesday) before starting a strong protest against what they said the indifferent attitude of the officials. The participants of the meeting observed that the CADD was not taking the matter seriously and directives of the prime minister were being violated despite the fact that the Federal Directorate ofEducation (FDE) has completed file work of over 1,500 promotion cases. The prime minister, in his directives, had ordered one-time upgradation of all teachers and physical training instructors working in the BPS prior to January 1, 2011.

Meanwhile, an official of CADD, when contacted, said the ‘by name promotion orders’ ofteachers would be issued in due course of time, as they are taking care of the fact that no legal lacuna is left in this regard.
