FBISE Failed Students Can Give 10 Times Exam for Passing



FBISE permits 10 chances to attempt suppl’y exams

ISLAMABAD Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has notified to provide 10 consecutive chances to youth for appearing in supplementary examinations of Matriculation and Intermediate with an objective to facilitate weak students.
According to the notification “Pursuant to the approval of Board of Governors (BOG) meeting restriction on the number of chances for appearing in the failed subject(s) is removed with the condition that this facility must be availed within five years from their first attempt, fromSecondary School Certificate (SSC) II and annual examinations 2011. The chances availed by a candidate should be in line with the curriculum/syllabus in vogue at the time of takingexamination by such candidate(s). The old syllabus in any subject would be kept in practice up to two consecutive chances.
According to another notification issued on November 15, any student clearing part one of Matriculation or Intermediate from any other board of education would also be allowed to appear in exams for the second part of SSC II and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) II.


The students migrating from other board after passing their part-I of SSC and HSSC would be allowed to appear in second part ofexamination and their marks secured in part-I would be calculated as per the scheme of FBISE and would be incorporated in their results.

The FBISE also announced for abolishing practical examinationsof SSC-I and HSSC-I annualexamination. FBISE would conduct composite practical examinationsin all subjects involving practical for the candidates of SSC and HSSC examination. Hence, fresh candidates, appearing in SSC-1 and HSSC-1 annual examinations 2012, would take their practical examinations of part-1 along with practical examinations of part-II in respective annual examinations SSC-II and HSSC-II 2013.
It was also notified that internal and external examiners would conduct practical examinationsof 20 marks, 10 marks each, at SSC level in science subjects. At the HSSC level, internal and external examiners would conduct practical examination of 30 marks in science subjects for 10 and 20 marks respectively.
According to the notification, practical in subject of Computer Science, external examiners would conduct at SSC and HSSC level. The notification also explained the student(s) of any group are allowed to appear in any one or two additional subjects wherein the FBISE conducts the examination after having cleared SSC and HSSC examination. The officials of FBISE are of the view that these decisions were taken in the greatest interest of students, adding that there had been a great demand from students and parents for maximum chances in appearingexaminations and providing them chance to shift their boards. app
