Sindh University employees took out a rally

Hyderabad: A large number of Sindh University employees took out a rally from Jamshoro campus and demonstrated at the university Model School Hyderabad on Friday. Later, they staged a protest sit-in outside the local press club to press the university administration for the acceptance of their demands.

The rally was taken out under the banner of Employees Association.

The office-bearers of the association said that land-grabbers had occupied hundreds of acres of university land in connivance with the university administration. They said that this was the reason that the employees were not being allotted plots.

They said that the university syndicate had adopted a resolution that the children of the retired and expired university employees should be given priority in employment but the vice chancellor and the university administration were appointing their favourites and accused them of appointing 50 outsiders.

They said that the working time of the employees had also been increased by two hours and threatened to close the university if the problems of the employees were not resolved. Dawn
